Official 5-CD and Blu-ray box set featuring all surviving British radio and television performances by the legendary Strawbs between 1966 and 1984.

The Strawbs’ roots date back to 1963, when Dave Cousins and Tony Hooper formed the bluegrass duo The Strawberry Hill Boys. The Strawbs’ first album was released in May 1969 and marked the beginning of a magnificent career featuring a series of classic albums. Dave Cousins was the visionary, talented musician and songwriter who shaped the band through its various lineups. Over the years, the band’s lineup included such renowned musicians as Ron Chesterman, Tony Hooper, Rick Wakeman, Richard Hudson, John Ford, Blue Weaver, Dave Lambert, Chas Cronk, Rod Coombes, and John Hawken. Cousins’ musical vision led the Strawbs to evolve their style from their folk roots into one of Britain’s leading progressive rock groups.

Between 1966 and 1984, the Strawbs recorded numerous unforgettable radio and television performances for the BBC and other British broadcasters. This remastered box set contains all surviving BBC radio and television recordings by the band, as well as several tracks recorded for other broadcasters. These include, in particular, three complete BBC Radio In Concert shows, appearances on “The Old Grey Whistle Test” and “Top of the Pops,” as well as a Strawbs reunion concert at the 1983 Cambridge Folk Festival.

It is a wonderful tribute to the musical legacy of the late Dave Cousins.
