After the unforgettable conclusion of Morsefest 2022, where Transatlantic delivered two electrifying performances, it was clear to us that an era had ended. The beloved venue that hosted Morsefest since its inception in 2014 had been sold, leaving the future of the event uncertain. However, just as in life, where one chapter ends, another begins.

In the months that followed, I spent a great deal of time reflecting and praying about how we could preserve the spirit of Morsefest, even without the familiar facilities. One thing became clear early on: if Morsefest were to continue, it needed to return to its roots—back “to where it all began…” The Testimony album holds a special place in my heart, and while excerpts have been performed with the Neal Morse Band (NMB), the desire to tell the full story remained strong. Despite our informal “no repeats” policy, I knew it was time to revisit Testimony. And what better companion to Testimony than Testimony 2? From this seed, the idea for Morsefest 2023 was born.

Our usual video and audio team captured every moment of the event, and we are thrilled to announce the release of the Morsefest 2023 collection, featuring the two incredible shows from the U.S. edition. This special release includes performances of Testimony and Testimony 2 in their entirety, along with Spock’s Beard’s The Healing Colors of Sound—performed live for the first time by NMB! Fans will also enjoy other highlights from Testimony 2, including “Seeds of Gold” (a fan favorite) and “Supernatural,” which we previously only played in an unplugged arrangement.
