Björk: Orkestral With The Hamrahli Choir [Blu-ray]

"Björk Orkestral" with the Hamrahlíð Choir—the live concert and choral experience, which was recorded on October 24, 2021, at Harpa in Reykjavík, is now being released on physical media for the first time.

In 2021, Björk presented a series of four “Orkestral” concert livestreams at Harpa in Reykjavík. During these intimate performances, Björk was accompanied by members of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, the Hamrahlíð Choir, and the flute septet Viibra, with proceeds benefiting Kvennaathvarfið, a women’s shelter in Reykjavík.

As part of this concert series, Björk was accompanied by over 100 Icelandic musicians; these were among the first live performances in front of an audience by a major international singer since COVID-19 had brought the live music industry to a standstill.

This release features the live recording of the October 24, 2021, concert with the Hamrahlíð Choir, conducted by Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir, and musical director Bergur Þórisson, who also played the organ and electronics. The recording primarily features songs from Björk’s albums *Medúlla* (2004), *Biophilia* (2011), and *Utopia* (2017).
